Blyde dam boat trips open and compliant to Covid regulations
Enjoy the splendour of the third largest Canyon in the world. Unquestionably being the largest ‘green canyon’ due to its lush Subtropical foliage. An interpretation tour by a tour guide will take you to the you to the rare living Kadishi Tufa waterfall and the Three Rondawels. An abundance of wildlife will keep you distracted while learning more about the natural history of the Blyde Canyon.
The Blyde River canyon supports large diversity of life, including numerous fish and antelope species as well as Hippos and Crocodiles, primate species and a diversity of birdlife such as the African Fish Eagle, African Finfoot and much more.
Possibly the best view in the whole of the Blyde River Canyon is of the “Three Rondavels”, huge, round rocks, thought to be reminiscent of the houses or huts of the indigenous people, known as rondavels. The Canyon is famous for the Kadishi Tufa waterfall. At 200m (around 660 feet) in height it is the second tallest Tufa waterfall on earth. In the case of the Kadishi Tufa fall, the formation that has been produced strikingly resembles a face which is crying profusely, and is thus sometimes known as the weeping face of nature.

Absolutely beautiful experience, the tour was so insightful with so much to learn! I love that our guide was so friendly, laughing with us and taking in the moment. We got to experience seeing hippos, crocodiles and even wildlife on the mountains. Much recommended! - Teneace
The boat cruise was extremely nice and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and he made the cruise enjoyable - Kgaogelo
Our guide was the greatest & informative guide I've ever met. He cracked jokes throughout, gave us an opportunity to take pictures. A great spotter of animals around the dam. I can do it all over again. - Mathilda
Absolutely wonderful experience! Our guide Ali was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The other 8 guests that booked for the boat trip was late and missed the departure time... so it was like a personalised luxury boat trip having Ali share all his knowledge and enthusiasm about such a beautiful and unique part of the world just with us. - Lorianne
