Blyde dam boat trips open and compliant to Covid regulations
Enjoy the splendour of the third largest Canyon in the world. Unquestionably being the largest ‘green canyon’ due to its lush Subtropical foliage. An interpretation tour by a tour guide will take you to the you to the rare living Kadishi Tufa waterfall and the Three Rondawels. An abundance of wildlife will keep you distracted while learning more about the natural history of the Blyde Canyon.
The Blyde River canyon supports large diversity of life, including numerous fish and antelope species as well as Hippos and Crocodiles, primate species and a diversity of birdlife such as the African Fish Eagle, African Finfoot and much more.
Possibly the best view in the whole of the Blyde River Canyon is of the “Three Rondavels”, huge, round rocks, thought to be reminiscent of the houses or huts of the indigenous people, known as rondavels. The Canyon is famous for the Kadishi Tufa waterfall. At 200m (around 660 feet) in height it is the second tallest Tufa waterfall on earth. In the case of the Kadishi Tufa fall, the formation that has been produced strikingly resembles a face which is crying profusely, and is thus sometimes known as the weeping face of nature.

Great experience - Ledwaba
The best way to experience nature and also learn about it. - Chamain
It was the best experience ever, the boat ride was refreshing, the sound of the water in the dam and the air was therapeutic ? We would choose to ride over and over again. We went home as brand new refreshed individuals - Malebu
My goodness, that was the most incredible experience of my life. What made it very memorable and extremely entertaining was the tour guide. He was so knowledgeable about everything that we came across while on the boat (animals and plants). He has an incredible sense of humour too. I forgot the tour guides name but I have attached his photo. lol please promote him. The only downfall were the humps on our way to the venue. Low profile cars are getting damaged on those humps. One car even got stuck on our way out. Can that be looked into. But overall my experience was totally amazing. - Mxolisi
Very nice cruise - we got to see hippos, crocodiles and a lot of birds from up close ! - Steve
