Blyde Dam Boat Cruise BCS

Swadini, Hoedspruit

Activity Description

Blyde Canyon Safaris, together with the Moletele community, offer scenic boat trips on the Blyde Dam. This is your opportunity to see the famous Three Rondawels and the Blyde River Canyon from the angle it’s supposed to be seen: while you’re on the water, at the base of the towering mountains that form these breathtaking sights. Tick off those last couple of birds that have been eluding your bird list and enjoy seeing the hippo’s and crocodiles that make this dam their home.

We are passionate about nature and preserving the few untouched pieces that remain in South Africa. We aim to offer everyone the opportunity to experience the beauty that the Lowveld has to offer. We run several activities and excursions and through our sister company, Blyde Adventure Camp, adventure and leadership camps for large groups.

We offer daily trips at 9am, 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Join one of our trips or book the entire boat for yourself. Use our friendly online booking system on this website, or contact our office to make your booking.

We regret to inform you that we do not allow children under 2 years on the boat trip

Customer Reviews

The tour was great, the attendance of the staff oor email, for scheduling and then during the paaseio was exemplary. We had a wonderful experience in one of the most beautiful places in the world. - Leonardo Inojosa

I have done a boat trip on the Blyde Dam before so when our two British friends came to stay with us in Hoedspruit, as they do each year I thought it would be a beautiful and relaxing way to spend an afternoon. I think it was Jan who was our guide (with the blond hair). He was so friendly, full of fun, helpful and chatty which made the trip so very pleasant. He was good with the unexpected crying child that spoilt the day, but that was no ones fault! The boat was clean and comfy, the scenery was stunning (as usual) and we had a happy relaxed time. We will happily do the trip again when we have visitors and also reccommend to others to use your boat cruise.Thank you and regards. Ann P.S. Pitty about the Australian film crew spoiling our countrys national heritage site and selfishly cutting off your income while others in the area benefit from their luxurios demands. On principal I will never watch their TV program. - Ann Anderson

We went on the boat trip and really enjoyed it. It was well organised, safe and relaxed. Beautiful sightseeing of the canyon and hippos. Cheers - CJ van Boheemen

It was a beatyfull boattrip! Some Drinks on Bord and ist's perfekt! - Tina Kross

The boat trip itself was very pleasant and worthwhile. I am a bit disappointed in the condition of the tar road and information centre, seeing that we also pay a R 30 pp entrance fee to get to the boat trip in the first place. The restrooms there also don't have water and are not serviced every day. You need to flush the toilet with a bucket of water. Prepare to experience Africa in it's rarest form! - Lionel Van Dyk
